I read somewhere that, although 24k gold is 100% pure gold content, 14k and 18k gold alloys are more ideal for jewelry given better resilience. Since I want something that could stand up to regular wear, my focus has been on solid gold. Not sure how true that is for all jewelry, but I guess her advice has started to sink in: I’ve been wanting to mitigate some of the guilt I feel about spending on something as non-essential as jewelry by investing into quality pieces that will hold onto their value.
